A windy week at Isla San Francisco

Last week we sailed north, which we had waited for due to the typical strong winds from the north during winter, called Northers.

Our sail north overnight, about 10 hours long, was fast and smooth. Our friends aboard SV Anila (www.anilasailing.ch) who we first met in La Paz, joined us at the Isla San Francisco anchorage the following afternoon. We spent the windy week spearfishing and hiking the trails on Isla San Francisco. Kiwi even dove the edge of the beach and caught a crab.

After being cooped up inside the boat due to the strong north winds that resumed the day after we arrived, we were mostly trapped inside the boat, hiding from the wind. Unfortunately during our sail back the wind died and we were forced to motor for two hours to our next anchorage at Bahia Falsa, just outside La Paz harbor.
