Isolated in Northwest Washington

A few days ago the stay-at-home order for Washington State was extended until May 4. Our plans are delaying and we are wondering if we will be able to do the planned haul-out in Nanaimo by summer. I’m dreading the thought of having the summer season be cut so short that we won’t be able to travel around Vancouver Island. But for now we’re staying positive.

Life on board is mostly boring. Depending on the weather our living space grows and shrinks. The pets are rotating sleeping spots. Coco’s spot is Kiwi’s spot is Milka’s spot and back around. I am enjoying the time to cook a big meal every day. Best of all, we just recently received a new radar, VHF radio, AIS tracking, and a multifunction display that aggregates all the information from the new devices as well as some of the old. Nic has been busy removing panels, old devices, chafed wires, and reorganizing the wiring. The new devices are in place and we are like kids in a candy store waiting for data to show on the display. Not much to see yet. But with many more weeks of staying at home, we will report more about our new toys.

Stay healthy and safe my friends!
